Hey Jody thanks for posting. Sure seems like alot of the dogs today shows in their pedigree.Who owned the Pete dog? I see where someone mentioned their dog was out of his last litter so I am assuming he has passed?

Enjoy looking at the puppy pictures of pups out of Bo, Zep, Joe, EchoIV, Etc. they are some real lookers for sure. Them pictures of them pups out of IV are as nice looking as anyone could ask for. I really that 6 mo. male out of IV x Wild Thing Jane.

Guys

Just wanted to say thanks to all that have pm'ed me in regards to getting Alice bred to a nice Echo bred hound and offering to help in the shipping of chilled semen. Guys, I don't know much about Echo bred hounds but this thread has been a great one to read. I mapquested Atoka, OK and it told me 17 hours plus of driving and 1045 miles. Making the drive isn't out of the equasion but getting chilled done buy a vet that knows whats up would sure be nice. I certainly would like to make the trip and hunt with a few Echo bred studs and have some fun in the process but it's going to be tough to make that happen. This one looks like I'll be going on pure thought and what feels right for my likings. Going to be an outcross anyway ya look at it! If I can pick up what I'm looking for, it could turn out great and again, maybe all duds. I feel real good about mixing the lines of the two. Another ?, would ya be willing to ship chilled twice, skipping a day at my exspence so I could AI twice. I'm willing to pay for the service part of helping me out. This would give me the best shot at getting a litter. I AI'ed Alice twice her last litter and had she had 10 pups. If the semen quality is right, I can do my part. Nothing in stone as of yet, just alot of thinkin and waiting on a few answers from some! It's not going to be an easy decision for me to make so bare with me if you all would!! Thanks, Danny G.

Danny, what are you up to you ole outlaw! Your like a mad scientist mixing up the next batch of bluetick potion! LOL

I have to agree with you, this is a very nice thread with a lot of good information. I know you like for the ole blue haired potlickers on the end of your strap to have a little extra giddy up. It sure sounds like this is a common trait in these Echo hounds. If you do cross Alice onto one of these Echo studs you'll have to tell those ole woodlot coons up in your neck of the woods to get ready! LOL Make sure the truck has a full tank of gas, garmin is charged & ready, then unsnap ole blue & let the fun begin! I wish you the best of luck with your plans!

Vic

Danny, I doubt that any Echo dog you breed to will throw wild pups that you have chase across the county before they get treed, all of these dogs I have hunted with have struck coon as they came to them, including old Echo. Ohio has enough coon that you should have a easy time pulling them off trees when you get ready to call it a night.

Posted by Danny Glista on 10-12-2012 11:48 PM:

Voyd

The guys around here call me the tailgate hunter. I want to drop the tailgate, get one out and cut him or her loose and sit there till they get treed. Only two reasons for me to get off my behind, heading to a tree or dog is getting close to a road. These days I like to limit the walking if I can. When I cut one loose, it better get his behind in the timber and make things happen and not take all night to do it. When the corn and beans come off, I like to pull right out in the middle of the field, point my light towards the timber and cut'em! They better be heading for that woodlot hard and fast. The more the go power, the better I like them but with brains enough to take a track when it comes to one and get that dang thing treed. The common thing I'm reading and seeing here is going hard, great track ability, and tree with the coon looking down when ya get there. The going hard and track speed is always a plus but they have to tree and stay put foremost to make a top hound. I'm betting I'll get both along with some big mouths. If I had all the right answers here at the kennel, I'ld stay as is but I believe ya can always make better than what your hunting. Ya just have to make the move and do it sometimes to find out. Alice is the perfect one for me to make that happen, thus the reason to buy her back and the adventure into Echo bred hounds. Time will tell! She should be coming in soon! Vic, these sick ohio woodlot coons get sick of looking at me when one top hound lights my fire. Hopefully it will come from the next litter I raise here. Time will tell. Have to make it happen first off and move on from there once a litter hits the ground! Thanks, Danny G.

Thank you for the compliment on Repete. He is a real good looking pup. I really like his color and his head, and he has a tremendous mouth on him!! He was my pick of the litter from about the time he was a week or two old.

Jeff, If you or Voyd can make something happen with Danny G on getting Alice bred, I am inline to get a pup from that cross! Have been reading about these Echo bred dogs for quit some time now hoping we could find a way to get some of it over east. Looks like Danny is trying hard to make it happen. The Alice female is a get gone get struck and get treed with the meat kind of dog. I have hunted with her a number of times and the more you hunt with her the more you have to like her. I own one of the AlicexPiazon females and she reminds me in many ways of her momma. I hope you guys can get it done. Good luck with your hounds.

I would love to see some of these dogs get out that way. Matt and Sarah Lingo, in Indiana, have one out of Echo IV that they are really liking.

Visited Troy's house today and took a look at Zep and was lucky enough to see the Joe dog that Voyd left over in his pens for a couple days.

Zep is a good looking dog with one heck of a head on him. Joe is also very good looking with an excellent mouth from what I could tell as he barked a couple times in the pen.

Troy is a super nice guy and as I found out had about the same luck with women as I have had. LOL

Thanks Troy for taking the time to mess with us Kansas folk, sure enjoyed it.
