No, I still own Wild Thing Jane with my buddy, Jimmy Waller. We have bred her once, to Echo IV. The pups are 6 months old and we have not started them yet. There is a pic of one of them named Junior, on the previous page.

Thanks Jerry. Yes, Ike seems to be feeling good. The lymes disease has set him back a bit in the woods though. I am about to get him out with this cooler weather and see if I can't get him tuned back up. Slam'em is coming along. Some nights she looks like a million bucks and other nights she makes me want to pull my hair out. Putting one up for a year doesn't ever do much good. LOL

never seen an Echo breed dog that wouldn't once they were sure nuff treed. i have seen them at young ages, not finished products when they would get the big ear though. i guess i've seen that in every breed and line that i have hunted with though. from what i have seen over the years with them is that they mature later than most, but usually make better hounds if you have the patience to wait on them. i have hunted several different ones out of different echo hounds too and seen the same thing in all of them. some of them have got the best of me and i gave up on them, but have waited on others that went on to make good ones.

Typically most young Echo dogs don't seem to make as many trees as young dogs from some of the dogs from other lines, it seems they are more concerned about finishing the track on the right tree than just making trees. I haven't ever hunted with a Echo dog that treed coon cosistently that wasn't a pressure treedog, actually some people might think they are independent to a fault.

well it depends on what your into i guess if your a pleasure hunter and you take 2 or three dogs or like to go with buddies these dogs are not always what you would want to take because they are not going to pack up all night long so alot of times you will walk to a tree while your buddy walks to a tree or you go gether one dog and then go get the other somewhere else.
thats about the only reason i would say i personally think it is great its suits me just fine if he is alone wether i am in competition or pleasure hunting. jmo

Split tree Who, What, When, and Where, I don't want to hear any more griping from you about having to walk to seperate tree anymore. I personally like to drive to all of them it saves time lol

What young dogs are being hunted right now out of the Echo line and how are they bred exactly? I have really enjoyed this thread and learned about the Echo dogs here.

Im hunting 2 females that are 10 months old out of Joe (pete & annie) and Sadie (pete & slammit). Daniel Lang is hunting a brother to these 2 females that is running track and treeing Ty Howard is hunting a brother to these 2 females and he is splitting and picking trees. My 2 females have only been hunted a couple of times so far. Im hunting a female out of Pete and Annie that is in heat now so gives me more time for these young ones. Adam Davis is hunting a young female that he won a cast with in Illinois last weekend that is out of a pete and annie female and Claudell Steeleys Bucky dog. Quite a few more around cant remember them all.

Got a ? or 2

Who can ship chilled semen that owns these nice Echo bred hounds. I purchased Alice back for the second time and I'm looking to breed her to this line of hounds when she comes in which is real soon and raise another litter from her. It's a long trip to say the least. Also anyone bred to a female bred like Alice with good results! Boomer and Ruby cross. Her first litter has shown great results in the timber and I'm confident she will do her part in creating natural pups that want to tree regardless of who she is bred too. I would like to do an AI of chilled semen rather than make a long trip at this time! PM if you can ship chilled and great thread! Thanks, Danny G.
